Our Armenian Czech translation service in Yerevan works in both directions, Armenian to Czech and Czech to Armenian, for people moving to the Czech Republic to work, study, live or do business, and for Czech documents that must be used in Armenia. Apostil.am works with a network of professional freelance translators and editors familiar with the format of Czech official documents and legal terminology. Choose an agency-stamped translation online or a notarized translation when the receiving authority requires it.

When you need a Czech translation

The Czech Republic is an EU and Schengen member state, and many people from Armenia go there for work, study or medical treatment. There is an Armenian community in Prague and Brno, so documents travel between the two countries all the time. Typical situations:

  • Employee card (zaměstnanecká karta) and long-term visa – diploma, employment references, police clearance, proof of accommodation.
  • Study at a Czech university – school certificate, diploma, supplement, course descriptions. Foreign education often has to be recognized in the Czech Republic (nostrification), which requires an official translation.
  • Family reunification – marriage and birth certificates, documents of the spouse and children.
  • Schengen visa – bank statements, employer letters, invitations.
  • Medical treatment in Czechia – medical records, test results and doctor’s reports for clinics and spa resorts.
  • Czech documents for Armenia – a Czech birth or marriage certificate (rodný list, oddací list) or a Czech university diploma.
  • Trade – contracts, certificates and invoices for Czech machinery, glass, car parts and food products.

Stamped vs notarized translation

A stamped (agency-certified) translation is fully online: you send a scan, receive a PDF with the agency stamp by e-mail, and get the paper copy at our office or by courier in Yerevan. It is the fastest solution when no notary is required.

A notarized translation needs the original document or a notarized copy, because the notary binds the translation to it. It cannot be done from a scan; the scan is only used to quote the price. We visit the notary on your behalf. Other options are listed on our services page.

Requirements in the Czech Republic: apostille and court translators

Armenia and the Czech Republic are both parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, so consular legalization is, as a rule, not required. In Armenia the apostille is issued by the state: the RA Ministry of Justice (civil status, notarial, court and other official documents) and the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (educational documents). Apostil.am does not issue apostilles, but we give free advice, can submit the application on your behalf (state fee 7,000 AMD per apostille) and then translate the document together with its apostille. Czech documents are apostilled in the Czech Republic.

In the Czech Republic an official translation (úřední překlad) is usually made by a court translator (soudní překladatel), who attaches a translator’s clause and seal. The Ministry of the Interior, universities and courts often require exactly this. In that case we help prepare the apostilled originals, and our translation can be used where it is accepted, for example for Czech documents submitted in Armenia. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Yerevan publishes its own requirements for visa documents. Always check with the receiving authority which translation they accept.
