Armenian-գերմաներեն թարգմանություն՝ Բեռլին, Գերմանիա

Armenian German translation in both directions, Armenian to German and German to Armenian, is needed when you move to Germany to study, work or join your family, and when a German document has to be filed in Armenia, for example for a car imported from Germany or a degree earned there. Apostil.am in Yerevan works with a network of professional German translators and editors and delivers both agency-certified and notarized translations. German authorities are strict, so here is how to avoid rejected paperwork.

When you need an Armenian-German translation

German is an official language in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg. Germany has a well-established Armenian community, and more students and professionals move there every year. Typical cases:

  • Study and vocational training: school certificates, diplomas and transcripts for a German university or an Ausbildung programme.
  • Work and recognition of qualifications: diplomas of doctors, nurses and engineers, employment record books and experience letters for Anerkennung or a work visa.
  • Family reunification and marriage: birth and marriage certificates and marital-status certificates for the Standesamt (civil registry) and the embassy.
  • Cars and imports: the registration certificate (Zulassungsbescheinigung), sales contract and invoice of a car bought in Germany for customs and registration, plus technical documentation for German equipment.
  • Medical treatment: reports for German clinics, or an Arztbrief for doctors in Armenia.

Documents we translate

Both directions: Armenian documents into German for authorities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and German documents into Armenian for Armenian ministries, customs, the road police, banks and notaries.

  • Personal and civil status: birth, marriage and divorce certificates, passports, residence certificates, police clearance, powers of attorney, travel consent for minors.
  • Education and career: diplomas and supplements, school certificates, transcripts, syllabi, employment record books, CVs (Lebenslauf).
  • Legal and corporate: articles of association, Handelsregister extracts, supply contracts, court rulings, financial statements.
  • Medical: Arztbrief, discharge summaries, lab results, vaccination records.
  • Technical and commercial: vehicle documents, manuals, certificates of conformity, catalogues.

We pay special attention to the spelling of names: it must match the Latin spelling in your passport, or the Standesamt or university may raise questions. See all our translation services.

Certified (stamped) vs notarized translation

A certified translation with the agency stamp is fully online: send a scan, receive the stamped PDF by e-mail, and collect the paper copy at our office or get it by courier in Yerevan. It suits, for example, an online university application.

For a notarized translation, the notary binds the translation to the original or a notarized copy, so we need the original physically. It cannot be done online or from a scan; the scan is only for the estimate. We visit the notary for you. For documents of a car imported from Germany, Armenian authorities often require a notarized translation, so check in advance.

Apostil.am does not issue apostilles. In Armenia the apostille is issued by the state: the Ministry of Justice (civil-status, notarial, court and other official documents) and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (educational documents). We advise free of charge, can submit the application on your behalf (state fee 7,000 AMD per apostille) and then translate the document with its apostille.

Requirements in Germany, Austria and Switzerland

Germany, Austria and Switzerland are parties to the Hague Apostille Convention. An Armenian public document usually needs an apostille, and a German document is apostilled in Germany.

  • Germany: the Standesamt, courts and recognition bodies often require a translation by a translator sworn in Germany (beeidigter / ermächtigter Übersetzer). In that case we prepare the apostilled original and the translation is done in Germany. For visas or universities a translation made in Armenia is sometimes accepted.
  • Austria: uses court-certified sworn translators (allgemein beeideter und gerichtlich zertifizierter Dolmetscher).
  • Switzerland: rules vary by canton.

The German embassy operates in Yerevan, and many Schengen visas are filed through the embassy or VFS Global. For Austria or Switzerland, contact the competent embassy or consulate (it may be accredited from another country). Always check with the receiving authority which translation they accept.

Basic is 4,000 AMD per page (1,800 characters with spaces), Business 5,000 AMD and Extra 6,000 AMD. Notarization adds 6,000 AMD per document, and legal texts carry a ×1.3 coefficient.

Can I translate the documents of a car from Germany online?

Will a German Standesamt accept a translation made in Yerevan?

The Standesamt often requires a translation by a translator sworn in Germany. In that case we prepare the apostilled original and the translation is done in Germany. Check with the specific office first.

Do I need an apostille for Germany?

Germany is a Hague Convention party, so an Armenian public document as a rule needs an apostille. It is issued by the Ministry of Justice or the Ministry of Education, and we can file the application for you.

How fast can you translate a diploma into German?

Standard turnaround for Basic is 1–3 working days. If it is urgent, express within 24 hours costs +50% and same-day service +100%.
