Armenian Romanian Translation in Yerevan for Romania and Moldova

Armenian Romanian translation is needed when Armenian documents are submitted in Romania or Moldova, and Romanian to Armenian translation is needed when a document from those countries must be accepted in Armenia. Apostil.am in Yerevan provides Armenian-Romanian and Romanian-Armenian translation with the agency stamp or notarization, plus free advice on apostille requirements. Our network of professional translators and editors works with both Romanian and Moldovan documents.
Romanian is a Romance language written in the Latin alphabet, with special letters: ă, â, î, ș and ț. In an official translation they must be reproduced exactly, especially in names, addresses and company names. A single missing diacritic can create a mismatch between a passport and a diploma.
When you need Romanian translation
Romanian is the official language of two countries: Romania, an EU member state, and Moldova. Romania has a historic Armenian community, notably in Bucharest and Constanța. Typical situations:
- Studying in Romania: admission to medical and technical universities requires school certificates, diplomas, transcripts and sometimes course syllabi.
- Work: documents for work permits and visas, qualification certificates, driving licences and employment records.
- Family and residence: marriage registration, family reunification, a child’s birth certificate.
- Logistics and trade: carriage contracts for cargo moving through the port of Constanța, customs and shipping documents, and deals in the Moldovan wine and brandy sector.
- Moldova: marriage to a Moldovan citizen, business partnerships, study in Chișinău.
- The other direction: recognition of a Romanian or Moldovan diploma in Armenia, inheritance, property transactions, marriage registration in Yerevan.

Certified (stamped) vs notarized translation
A certified translation with the agency stamp is fully online: send a scan, receive the stamped PDF by e-mail, and pick up the paper copy at our office or get it by courier in Yerevan. It is the fastest route, useful for a preliminary university application or for sending a contract to a partner.
A notarized translation requires the original or a notarized copy in physical form, because the notary binds the translation to it. A scan is only used for the quote. We go to the notary for you.
We do not issue apostilles. In Armenia they are issued by the RA Ministry of Justice (civil status, notarial, court and other official documents) and the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (educational documents). We advise free of charge, can file the application on your behalf (state fee 7,000 AMD per apostille), and then translate the document together with the apostille.
Requirements in Romania and Moldova
Armenia, Romania and Moldova are all parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, so consular legalization is generally not required. Armenian documents are apostilled in Armenia, Romanian documents in Romania, Moldovan documents in Moldova.
Romania. Romanian authorities often accept only a translation by a translator authorized by the Romanian Ministry of Justice (traducător autorizat), frequently also legalized by a Romanian notary. If that applies to you, we will say so openly, help prepare the apostilled original and, if useful, translate it into English or Romanian to make the local translator’s work easier. Universities and employers sometimes also accept a notarized translation made in Armenia. For visa questions you can contact the Embassy of Romania in Yerevan.
Moldova. As a rule, a translation notarized in Armenia is accepted, with an apostille where required. For consular matters, contact the competent Moldovan embassy or consulate, which may be accredited from another country.
In every case, check with the receiving authority which translation they accept.
