Armenian-նորվեգերեն թարգմանություն՝ Գեյրանգեր ֆյորդ, Նորվեգիա

Apostil.am offers Armenian Norwegian translation in both directions, Armenian to Norwegian and Norwegian to Armenian, for civil-status records, diplomas, medical, legal and technical documents. It is a rare pair, so we work with specialized Norwegian translators and editors. Norwegian has two written standards, Bokmål and Nynorsk: we translate into Bokmål by default, as it is used by most of the population, and into Nynorsk on request.

When you need a Norwegian translation

Norway is not an EU member, but it belongs to the European Economic Area and the Schengen Area. Our clients usually need translations for:

  • Family reunification. Joining a spouse or parent who lives in Norway typically involves translating marriage and birth certificates and other proof of family ties.
  • Licensing of doctors, nurses and other health workers. Health professionals need an authorisation (autorisasjon) to practise in Norway. Applications usually include the diploma, transcript, course descriptions, employment records and a certificate of good standing.
  • Oil and gas, maritime and seafood industries. We translate engineering degrees, maritime and professional certificates, technical manuals and safety instructions.
  • Studying in Oslo, Bergen or Trondheim. Most universities accept English documents, so an Armenian to English translation is often enough.
  • Norwegian documents for Armenia. A child’s birth certificate (fødselsattest), marriage certificate (vigselsattest), residence certificate (bostedsattest) or inheritance papers are translated into Armenian and notarized for the civil registry, notaries or courts.

Documents we translate

We translate Armenian documents into Norwegian (or English, where the Norwegian authority accepts it) and Norwegian documents into Armenian for Armenian state bodies, notaries and banks.

Stamped vs notarized translation

A stamped (agency-certified) translation is fully online: send a scan, receive a stamped PDF by e-mail, and pick up the paper copy at our office or get it by courier in Yerevan.

A notarized translation is only possible with the original or a notarized copy, because the notary binds the translation to the document. It cannot be done from a scan; the scan is only for the quote. We go to the notary on your behalf.

Apostil.am does not issue apostilles. In Armenia they are issued by the RA Ministry of Justice (civil-status, notarial, court and other official documents) and the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (educational documents). We advise free of charge, can submit the application for you (state fee 7,000 AMD per apostille) and then translate the document together with the apostille.

Requirements in Norway: apostille and state-authorized translators

Armenia and Norway are both parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, so consular legalization is generally not required: the Armenian public document gets an apostille and is then translated. Norwegian documents are apostilled by the competent authority in Norway, after which we translate them into Armenian and have them notarized.

Norway has state-authorized translators (statsautorisert translatør). Some Norwegian authorities may insist on a translation by one of them; in that case we help you prepare the apostilled original, and the final translation is done in Norway. At the same time, many Norwegian bodies accept documents in English, and an Armenian to English translation, which we also provide, may be sufficient.

Visa and residence documents are submitted to the competent Norwegian embassy or consulate (it may be accredited from another country) or through a visa application centre. Before ordering, always check with the receiving authority which translation they accept: Norwegian or English, stamped, notarized or by an authorized translator.
