Armenian Ukrainian Translation in Yerevan: Certificates, Prices, Apostille

Armenian Ukrainian translation is needed when Armenian documents are submitted in Ukraine, and Ukrainian to Armenian translation is needed when a Ukrainian certificate, diploma or statement must be accepted in Armenia. Apostil.am in Yerevan provides Armenian-Ukrainian and Ukrainian-Armenian translation with the agency stamp or notarization, plus free advice on apostilles. We work with a network of professional translators and editors for whom Ukrainian is a working language, not “almost Russian”.
Ukrainian has its own letters (і, ї, є, ґ) and its own administrative vocabulary. For example, a “vytiah” is an extract from the State Register of Civil Status Acts and must be translated as such, not as a generic certificate.
When you need Ukrainian translation
Ukraine has long been home to a large Armenian community in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa and other cities, and in recent years many Ukrainian citizens have been living and working in Armenia. Typical situations:
- Residence in Armenia: birth and marriage certificates, police clearance certificates and employment contracts for the Armenian migration authorities.
- Marriage and family: marriage registration in Yerevan, documents for a child born in Armenia, change of name, divorce decisions.
- Education: school records for enrolling children in Armenian schools, recognition of Ukrainian diplomas and supplements, student transfers.
- Banking and property: opening an account, powers of attorney, handling property or inheritance in Ukraine remotely.
- The other direction: Armenians with ties to Ukraine submitting Armenian documents to Ukrainian authorities, notaries or partners.
- Business: contracts with Ukrainian partners and corporate documents.

Older Ukrainian documents from the Soviet era and the 1990s are often in Russian. We translate from both languages and keep surnames consistent: the Armenian ending “-ян” may appear in Latin script as “-ian” or “-yan”, so we follow the passport and flag any discrepancies in advance.

Certified (stamped) vs notarized translation
A certified translation with the agency stamp is fully online: send a scan, receive the stamped PDF by e-mail and get the paper copy at our office or by courier in Yerevan. It works well for schools, employers and private organizations.
A notarized translation requires the original or a notarized copy in physical form, because the notary binds the translation to it. A scan is only for the quote. We go to the notary for you. State bodies usually require a notarized translation.
We do not issue apostilles. In Armenia they are issued by the RA Ministry of Justice (civil status, notarial, court and other official documents) and the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (educational documents). We advise free of charge, can file the application on your behalf (state fee 7,000 AMD per apostille) and then translate the document together with the apostille. Apostilles for Ukrainian documents are issued in Ukraine.
Requirements in Ukraine and apostille
Armenia and Ukraine are both parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, so consular legalization is generally not needed. Ukrainian documents are apostilled by the competent Ukrainian authorities, Armenian documents by the Armenian ministries.
Ukraine typically accepts a translation notarized in Armenia, with an apostille where required. Some authorities may prefer a translation made in Ukraine; in that case we will prepare the apostilled original. For consular questions you can contact the Embassy of Ukraine in Yerevan.
To use Ukrainian documents in Armenia you usually need a Ukrainian apostille and a notarized Armenian translation. If the original has no apostille and you are in Armenia, find out in advance whether it can be obtained in Ukraine through a representative. In every case, check with the receiving authority which translation they accept.

Basic translation is 3,000 AMD per page, and a certificate rarely exceeds one page. Notarization adds 6,000 AMD. We confirm the exact price once we see the scan.
Can I get a notarized translation from a photo only?
No. From a photo we can quote and complete a stamped certified translation online, but for a notarized translation the original or a notarized copy must physically reach us.
Does a Ukrainian document need an apostille for residence in Armenia?
As a rule, yes: the apostille is added in Ukraine, then we make a notarized Armenian translation. Confirm the exact list with the receiving authority.
Does Ukraine accept a translation made in Armenia?
A notarized translation, with an apostille where required, is usually accepted, but some authorities may ask for a translation made locally. Check in advance.
