Armenian Lithuanian Translation in Yerevan: Certified and Notarized

Apostil.am provides Armenian Lithuanian translation in both directions, Armenian to Lithuanian and Lithuanian to Armenian, for personal, academic, legal and business documents. Lithuanian is a rare pair in Armenia, so we work with specialized freelance translators and editors. Choose an agency-stamped translation fully online, or a notarized one when the receiving authority requires it.
When you need a Lithuanian translation
Lithuania is a member of the EU and the Schengen Area, and Lithuanian is its only state language. Armenian documents filed with Lithuanian public bodies therefore normally have to be translated into Lithuanian. Typical situations we handle:
- Work and residence permits. Lithuanian employers, especially in transport, logistics and construction, also recruit staff from Armenia. Permit applications usually involve translations of diplomas, driving licences, employment references and a police clearance certificate.
- Studying in Vilnius, Kaunas or Klaipėda. Universities often accept English, but some state procedures require a Lithuanian version.
- Marriage and family reunification. Marrying a Lithuanian citizen typically means translating your birth certificate and proof of marital status into Lithuanian, while a Lithuanian marriage certificate must be translated into Armenian to be registered in Armenia.
- Trade and logistics. With the port of Klaipėda, Lithuania is a European freight hub: we translate supply contracts, invoices, CMR notes and certificates.
- Lithuanian documents for Armenia. Recognition of a Lithuanian degree, inheritance cases, powers of attorney, notarial transactions or civil-status registration in Armenia all require a notarized Lithuanian to Armenian translation.
Documents we translate
We translate Armenian documents into Lithuanian for use in Lithuania, and Lithuanian documents into Armenian for Armenian notaries, civil registry offices, ministries, courts and banks.
Personal and civil-status documents
- passports, ID cards, residence cards
- birth, marriage, divorce, death and name-change certificates
- certificates of marital status, police clearance certificates
Education
- diplomas and transcripts, school certificates, course descriptions, reference letters
Legal and corporate
- powers of attorney, consents, contracts, articles of association, register extracts, court decisions
Medical
- medical reports, discharge summaries, test results
Technical and commercial
- invoices, CMR notes, certificates of origin and conformity, equipment manuals, websites
Lithuanian women’s surnames can vary with marital status and the alphabet uses diacritics (ą, č, ė, š, ž), so we always follow the passport spelling.

Stamped vs notarized translation
A stamped (agency-certified) translation is fully online: you send a scan, we e-mail a PDF with our agency stamp, and you collect the paper copy at our Yerevan office or receive it by courier in Yerevan.
A notarized translation requires the original document or a notarized copy, because the notary binds the translation to it. Notarized translation cannot be done from a scan; a scan is only used for the price estimate. We visit the notary for you.
Apostil.am does not issue apostilles. In Armenia they are issued by the state: the RA Ministry of Justice (civil-status, notarial, court and other official documents) and the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (educational documents). We offer free advice, can submit the application on your behalf (state fee 7,000 AMD per apostille) and then translate the document together with its apostille.
Requirements in Lithuania: apostille and certification
Armenia and Lithuania are both parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, so consular legalization is generally not needed: an Armenian public document receives an apostille and is then translated into Lithuanian. Lithuanian documents are apostilled in Lithuania by the competent Lithuanian authority, and only then translated into Armenian and notarized.
Lithuania has no sworn-translator system of the French or German type. In practice, Lithuanian institutions commonly accept a translation certified by the translator or a translation agency, and in some cases ask for notarization. Requirements vary by institution.
Visa documents are usually filed with the competent Lithuanian embassy or consulate (it may be accredited from another country) or through a visa application centre. Always check with the receiving authority which type of translation they accept.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an Armenian Lithuanian translation cost per page?
The Basic package costs 7,000 AMD per page (1,800 characters), Business with proofreading 8,000 AMD and Extra 10,000 AMD. Notarization adds 6,000 AMD per document, and we confirm the final price after seeing the document.
Can I order a notarized translation online from a scan?
No. A notarized translation requires the original or a notarized copy, which the notary binds to the translation. A scan lets us quote the price, while the stamped agency translation is the fully online option.
Do Armenian documents need an apostille for Lithuania?
For public documents, as a rule yes, since both countries are Hague Convention parties. The apostille is issued by the RA Ministry of Justice or the Ministry of Education; we can submit the application for you and translate the document with its apostille.
Will Lithuanian institutions accept a translation made in Armenia?
Many accept a translation certified by the translator, the agency or a notary, but requirements vary. Check with the receiving authority before ordering and we will recommend the right option.
How do I get a Lithuanian marriage certificate translated for registration in Armenia?
First the certificate must be apostilled in Lithuania; we then translate it into Armenian and have it notarized. If you live abroad, you can send the original by international courier.
