Armenian Arabic Translation in Yerevan for the UAE, Lebanon and Syria

Our Armenian Arabic translation service in Yerevan works in both directions, Armenian to Arabic and Arabic to Armenian. Typical clients are Armenians who have moved from Syria and Lebanon, professionals heading to jobs in the Gulf, companies entering Arab markets, and citizens of Arab countries who study or receive medical treatment in Armenia. Apostil.am translates personal, academic, legal, medical and commercial documents, with our agency stamp or with notarization. Our professional freelance translators and editors work in Modern Standard Arabic (fusha), the language of official documents. See all our services.
When you need an Arabic translation
Arabic is an official language in more than twenty countries, from the Middle East to North Africa. Large Armenian communities have lived in Beirut and Aleppo for generations, and in recent years many Syrian and Lebanese Armenians have settled in Armenia. The most common requests:
- Syrian and Lebanese Armenians in Armenia: birth and marriage certificates and civil registry extracts for citizenship, residence, work or school.
- Jobs in the UAE and the Gulf: diplomas with supplements, employment references and police clearance certificates for a work visa.
- Business and export: company setup in Dubai, distribution agreements, certificates of origin, labels and certificates for Armenian products.
- Medical treatment: reports, test results and discharge summaries for patients treated in Armenia.
Documents we translate
We translate documents from Arab countries into Armenian for Armenian authorities, notaries, banks and universities, and Armenian documents into Arabic for use abroad.
Personal and civil status
- Lebanese civil registry extract (ikhraj qaid), Syrian family statement (bayan a’ili), birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates
- passports, ID cards, police clearance certificates, powers of attorney
Education
- school certificates, university degrees and supplements, transcripts
Legal and corporate
- articles of association, trade licences, register extracts, powers of attorney
- contracts, court decisions, inheritance and property documents
Medical
- medical reports, case history extracts, lab results, surgical notes
Technical and commercial
- certificates of origin and conformity, labels, manuals, websites
Two details matter in Arabic translation. Names: in Lebanese and Syrian documents Armenian names are often spelled according to Western Armenian pronunciation (Hagop rather than Hakob), and an Arabic full name usually includes the father’s name, so we align everything with the passport. Dates: some Saudi documents use the lunar Hijri calendar, and we convert those dates to the Gregorian calendar.

Stamped vs notarized translation
A stamped (agency-certified) translation is fully online: send a scan, receive a stamped PDF by e-mail, and collect the paper copy at our office or get it by courier in Yerevan.
A notarized translation requires the physical original or a notarized copy, because the notary binds the translation to it. It cannot be made from a scan; the scan is only for the quote. We go to the notary for you.
Apostil.am does not issue apostilles. In Armenia they are issued by the RA Ministry of Justice (civil status, notarial, court and other official documents) and the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (educational documents). We advise free of charge, can submit the application on your behalf (state fee 7,000 AMD per apostille) and then translate the document together with the apostille. Foreign documents receive their apostille in the country that issued them.
Requirements in Arab countries: apostille or legalization
- Apostille: Saudi Arabia (since December 2022), Oman, Bahrain, Morocco and Tunisia are parties to the Hague Convention, so an Armenian official document usually only needs an apostille.
- Consular legalization: the UAE, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Iraq are not parties. As a rule, documents for these countries are legalized at the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then at the competent embassy or consulate of the destination country (which may be accredited from another country).
- UAE: after the embassy step, documents are usually also attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and courts and some authorities often require an Arabic translation by a locally licensed legal translator.
Documents issued in Syria or Lebanon for use in Armenia are usually legalized by that country’s foreign ministry and the Armenian embassy or consulate there; we then prepare the notarized Armenian translation. Rules change, so always check with the receiving authority which translation they accept.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an Arabic translation cost?
Basic is 6,000 AMD per page, Business 7,000 AMD and Extra 9,000 AMD. Notarization adds 6,000 AMD per document. We confirm the exact price after seeing the scan.
Can I get a notarized translation online from a scan?
No, the original or a notarized copy is required. The stamped translation is the fully online option, and a scan is enough for a quote.
What do I need to use my diploma for a job in the UAE?
Usually the diploma (often with its supplement) is translated and notarized, then legalized at the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the competent UAE embassy, and finally attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs. An apostille does not work for the UAE. Confirm the exact requirements with your employer.
I am applying for Armenian citizenship with Syrian documents. How should they be translated?
Usually you need the legalized Syrian original and a notarized Armenian translation. If some documents are not legalized, check in advance with the receiving authority what is acceptable. We translate all stamps and annotations.
How do you spell names with Western Armenian pronunciation?
We follow the passport. If an Arabic document says Hagop and the Armenian passport says Hakob, we agree the spelling with you in advance so that all documents match.
