Armenian-իսպաներեն թարգմանություն՝ Պուերտա դե Ալկալա, Մադրիդ, Իսպանիա

Armenian Spanish translation runs in two main directions. People in Armenia prepare documents for residence, work or study in Spain, while Armenians from Argentina and the rest of Latin America bring Spanish-language certificates to Armenia for citizenship, residence or property matters. Apostil.am in Yerevan works with a network of professional Spanish translators and editors and produces agency-certified and notarized translations, Armenian to Spanish and Spanish to Armenian.

When you need a Spanish translation

Spanish is the official language of Spain and most of Latin America, from Mexico to Argentina, and the most widely spoken second language in the United States. There are Armenian communities in Spain and especially in Argentina, where the Armenian community of Buenos Aires goes back many decades. Typical situations:

  • Residence in Spain: birth and marriage certificates, police clearance, income and employment letters for residence permit and NIE-related applications.
  • Study: diplomas, transcripts and school certificates for a Spanish university or master’s programme, and recognition of a Spanish degree in Armenia.
  • Repatriation from Latin America: Argentine and other Latin American birth and marriage certificates and passports translated into Armenian for residence, citizenship or registering children in Armenia.
  • Inheritance and property: Spanish-language wills, powers of attorney and court decisions for property matters in Armenia, and vice versa.
  • Business: import contracts with Spanish suppliers, invoices, certificates, and websites or correspondence for Latin American partners.

Documents we translate

Armenian documents into Spanish for authorities in Spain and Latin America, and Spanish documents into Armenian for Armenian migration and civil-registry offices, notaries, banks and courts.

  • Personal and civil status: birth certificates (partida de nacimiento), marriage, divorce and death certificates, passports, DNI, residence and police certificates, powers of attorney.
  • Education: diplomas, supplements, school certificates, transcripts, syllabi.
  • Legal and corporate: articles of association, register extracts, contracts, wills, court rulings, financial statements.
  • Medical: discharge summaries, diagnoses, lab results, prescriptions.
  • Technical and commercial: product descriptions, certificates, manuals, websites, marketing copy.

Latin American documents often show two surnames (father’s and mother’s), and people with Armenian roots may have Hispanicised spellings. We render names exactly as in the passport so your documents stay consistent. See all our translation services.

Certified (stamped) vs notarized translation

A certified translation with the agency stamp is fully online: send a scan, receive the stamped PDF by e-mail, and get the paper copy at our office or by courier in Yerevan. It suits a preliminary university application.

For a notarized translation, the notary binds the translation to the original or a notarized copy, so we need the original physically. It cannot be done online or from a scan; the scan is only for the estimate. We visit the notary for you. Armenian state bodies usually expect foreign certificates with a notarized translation.

Apostil.am does not issue apostilles. In Armenia the apostille is issued by the state: the Ministry of Justice (civil-status, notarial, court and other official documents) and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (educational documents). We advise free of charge, can submit the application on your behalf (state fee 7,000 AMD per apostille) and translate the document with its apostille. A Spanish or Argentine document is apostilled in the country that issued it.

Requirements in Spain and Latin America

Spain and Argentina are parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, so as a rule an apostille is enough and consular legalization is not needed. For other Latin American countries, check their current status.

  • Spain: many authorities require a translation by a sworn translator (traductor jurado) appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Sometimes a translation made abroad and properly certified (for example a notarized translation with an apostille) is accepted. If a traductor jurado is required, we prepare the apostilled original and the translation is done in Spain.
  • Argentina: local use usually requires a translation by a registered public translator (traductor público). To use an Argentine document in Armenia, an Argentine apostille is enough and we translate it into Armenian.

For visa and consular matters of Spain or Argentina, contact the competent embassy or consulate (it may be accredited from another country). Always check with the receiving authority which translation they accept.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Armenian to Spanish translation cost?

Basic is 4,000 AMD per page (1,800 characters with spaces), Business 5,000 AMD and Extra 6,000 AMD. Notarization costs an extra 6,000 AMD per document.

I live in Argentina. Can I order a notarized translation remotely?

Yes, but the original must physically be in Yerevan, because the notary binds the translation to it. Send the original by international courier; we can estimate the price from a scan.

Will Spain accept a translation made in Yerevan?

It depends on the authority. A traductor jurado translation is often required, but sometimes a notarized translation with an apostille is accepted. Check with the receiving authority first.

Does an Argentine birth certificate need an apostille?

Argentina is a Hague Convention party, so for use in Armenia the certificate as a rule needs an apostille issued in Argentina. After that we translate it into Armenian and have it notarized.

How long does a Spanish translation take?

Basic takes 1–3 working days, Business 2–3 and Extra 2–4. Express within 24 hours costs +50% and same-day service +100%.
