Armenian to Turkish Translation and Turkish to Armenian in Yerevan

Our Armenian to Turkish translation and Turkish to Armenian translation service in Yerevan covers personal, academic, legal, medical and commercial documents. Apostil.am works with a network of professional freelance translators and editors who know modern Turkish and the wording of official papers.
When you need a Turkish translation
Turkish is the official language of Turkey and one of the official languages of Cyprus. Istanbul has been home to an Armenian community for centuries, and many families in Armenia and the diaspora have relatives, property or business ties there.
Typical reasons clients contact us:
- Living and working in Turkey: documents for a residence permit (ikamet izni) or work permit (çalışma izni).
- Studying: school certificate, diploma and supplement, academic transcript for a Turkish university.
- Marriage: registering a marriage with a Turkish citizen, or having a marriage concluded in Turkey recognized in Armenia.
- Inheritance and property: inheritance certificates, powers of attorney, title documents.
- Medical treatment: reports and test results from Turkish clinics for a doctor or insurer in Armenia.
- Imports: contracts, invoices, certificates of origin and conformity for goods made in Turkey.
- Turkish companies in Armenia: corporate documents for registration, banking or court.
Documents we translate
We work in both directions: Turkish documents into Armenian for Armenian bodies (civil registry, Migration Service, notaries, courts, banks, universities), and Armenian documents into Turkish for use in Turkey.
Personal and civil status documents
- passports, ID cards, Turkish population registry extracts (nüfus kayıt örneği)
- birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates
- police clearance certificates, powers of attorney, consent letters
Education
- school certificates, diplomas and supplements, transcripts, enrollment letters
Legal and corporate
- contracts, articles of association, trade registry extracts, court decisions, notarial deeds
Medical
- discharge summaries, surgery and examination reports, lab results, prescriptions
Technical and commercial
- invoices (fatura), certificates, product specifications, equipment manuals, websites
The Turkish alphabet includes ç, ş, ğ, ı, ö and ü; we check every name against the passport so it is spelled consistently.

Stamped (certified) vs notarized translation
A certified translation with the agency stamp is fully online: you send a scan, we translate it, certify it with our stamp and e-mail you the PDF. The paper copy can be collected at our Yerevan office or delivered by courier within Yerevan.
A notarized translation requires the original document (or a notarized copy) in physical form, because the notary binds the translation to it. A scan is only used for a quote; there is no such thing as a notarized translation “online” or “from a scan”. We take the documents to the notary ourselves, so you do not have to.
Requirements in Turkey: apostille, sworn translator, notary
Armenia and Turkey are both parties to the Hague Apostille Convention, so as a rule Armenian public documents are used in Turkey with an apostille rather than consular legalization. Since there are no diplomatic relations, there is no Turkish embassy in Yerevan, and the apostille is in practice the main route.
In Armenia, apostilles are issued by the state: the RA Ministry of Justice (civil status, notarial, court and other official documents) and the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports (educational documents). Apostil.am does not issue apostilles, but we offer free advice and can file the application on your behalf (state fee 7,000 AMD per apostille), then translate the document together with the apostille. Turkish documents receive their apostille in Turkey.
Many Turkish authorities (migration offices, notaries, universities) only accept a translation by a sworn translator (yeminli tercüman) certified by a Turkish notary (noter onaylı tercüme). In that case we prepare the apostilled original plus a working or English translation that makes the local step easier. For Armenian bodies, Turkish documents usually need a notarized Armenian translation. Always check with the receiving authority which translation they accept.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to translate a Turkish document?
Basic translation costs 5,000 AMD per page (1,800 characters with spaces), with proofreading 6,000 AMD, and with editing and final review 8,000 AMD. Notarization adds 6,000 AMD per document. We confirm the exact price after seeing the scan.
Can I order a notarized translation online?
No. A notarized translation needs the original or a notarized copy, which the notary binds to the translation; a scan is only for the quote. The stamped (agency-certified) translation is fully online: PDF by e-mail and a paper copy in Yerevan.
Will Turkish authorities accept a translation made in Armenia?
It depends on the authority. Many Turkish institutions require a translation by a sworn translator (yeminli tercüman) certified by a Turkish notary. We prepare the apostilled original and the translation you need, but check the requirements with the receiving office first.
Do I need an apostille on an Armenian document for Turkey?
As a rule, yes, because both countries are Hague Convention parties. The apostille is issued by the RA Ministry of Justice or Ministry of Education; we can file the application for you (state fee 7,000 AMD) and translate the document together with the apostille.
How long does the translation take?
The basic package is usually ready in 1–3 working days, business in 2–3 and extra in 2–4. Express: 24 hours (+50%) or same day (+100%).
